Sports massage is a great way to recover from vigorous training as well as helping to alleviate aches and pains from injuries of daily activities. Deep tissue massage helps to relax tight, fatigued muscles, take away pain and discomfort caused by hard training or bad posture. Sports massage can help someone who is an office worker, manual labourer or as a sports person. Many of us are office workers by day and competitive athletes out of office hours.
Most common sports injuries occur as a result of repetitive strain due to over use of the same muscles. They are called ‘sport injuries’ because they happen during exercise, but in fact they can happen whilst gardening or sitting by the computer for many hours.
The treatment will help with painful symptoms and where necessary I can offer advice on exercise and strengthening muscles to prevent and reduce the pain returning.
I offer treatment that centres around ‘remedial’ massage therapy, which simply means I try to remedy musculoskeletal problems. This I achieve by using a variety of massage and advanced soft tissue techniques set within a framework of assessment and rehabilitation. Sport massage is a specialist part within remedial massage therapy.
We function as a whole, if our mind is affected by daily stress, anxiety or poor sleep our bodies don’t function as well as they should. At times an ongoing enduring physical condition affects our spirit and make us feel tired and low. Massage can help the mind and body to relax, unwind and heal better.
